Words I Wrote along the Way

'Round and Around

When you lose direction and the way is unknown
You stumble each step of the way
'Grasping at straws' are the words of the day
Hoping a path can be found

'Round and around the cycle it goes
Like a carousel spinning in vain
No matter which way you go it's back to the start
'Round and around it goes on and on

The only way out is to get off of this wheel
That vainly spins 'round and around
But I don't even know how to jump off of this thing
The ground spins so fast in a blur

The only hope I have is that behind this nightmare
My God will stop it from spinning around
And let me get off and go far, far from here
Plant my feet once more firm on the ground

But I can't do it alone, I've tried too many times
A kind hand that would be nice right about now
So day after day, my prayers I do say
'Please help me, oh Lord on this very hard day'

I value that life has been given to me
I value His Words that I've read
But which way to go to get back on the road
Gets further away each day that I go
