2 Samuel 11:2-4...
"And it came to pass at eventide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king's house; and from the roof he saw a woman bathing; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon. 3 And David sent and inquired after the woman. And one said: 'Is not this Bath-sheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?' 4 And David sent messengers, and took her; and she came in unto him, and he lay with her;..."

18 Come Lie with Me

DAVID and BATHSHEBA

VERSE 1
Come lie with me in my arms tonight.
Safe from harm all through this night.
Come lie with me despite your fears
That with the break of morning's light I'll be gone from here.

VERSE 2
But I'm not free to be with you.
How dare you ask these things to do?
I see you there in your palace grand,
I see despite the show you are just a man.

CHORUS
Why do you say these things to me here this day?
I didn't plan the things that took place this day.

VERSE 3
I saw you there bathed in the soft moonlight.
Your flowing hair shining in the night.
I'm all alone in this palace grand
And just for once, tonight please take my hand.

INSTRUMENTAL

CHORUS
I know it's wrong but something says 'don't resist'.
Lost in your eyes and longing to feel your kiss.

VERSE 4
I'll lie with you in your arms tonight.
Loving you all through the night.
When morning comes I'll be gone from here.
Be sure my love, be sure - before we do wrong.
Be sure my love, be sure - before we do wrong.

TAG
Come lie with me.
Come lie with me.
Come lie with me.
