1 Samuel 9:1-2
""Now there was a man of Benjamin, whose name was Kish, the son of Abiel, the son of Zeror, the son of Becorath, the son of Aphiah, the son of a Benjamite, a mighty man of valour. 2 And he had a son, whose name was Saul, young and handsome, and there was not among the children of Israel a more handsome person than he: from his shoulders and upward he was taller than any of the people." 06 A Head Above the Rest

ELDERS

VERSE 1
He'd be a head above the rest and he'd dress with the best,
He'd be handsome and he wouldn't have a flaw.
He'd look great in this robe and his crown we've been told,
Will be as big as anybody else's 'round here.

He'd be gentle, he'd be kind, And we're sure they wouldn't mind
To have him kiss their babies on their cheeks.
He'd be from a good family and from all that we can see
He'd be the man we'd like to have as king.

VERSE 2
He's too short, we need tall,
He's too fat, he's too small, and this one I know won't work at all.
He's been sick, he can't fight, this one drinks too many pints.
We have to have someone who'll follow when we need him.

He's too young, he's too old, he's too bald and we know
The one we pick must stand out in the crowd.
So whom do we have left that will fit this suit of clothes?
There must be someone out there we don't know.

VERSE 3
He's a head above the rest and he dresses with the best,
He's handsome and he doesn't have a flaw.
He looks great in this robe and his crown we now know
Is just as big as anybody else's 'round here.

He's gentle and he's kind and we're sure they wouldn't mind
To have him kiss their babies on their cheeks.
He's from a good family and from all that we can see
He's just the man we want to have as king.

TAG
So let's raise our glasses high
And kiss SAMUEL goodbye

And say hello to SAUL our brand new king.
Say hello to SAUL our brand new king.
He's the man we want to have as king.

He's the king! Yeh...
