1 Samuel 8:11-18
"And he said, This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and some shall run before his chariots. 12 And he will appoint him captains over thousands, and captains over fifties; and will set them to ear his ground, and to reap his harvest, and to make his instruments of war, and instruments of his chariots. 13 And he will take your daughters to be confectionaries, and to be cooks, and to be bakers. 14 And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your olive yards, even the best of them, and give them to his servants. 15 And he will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers, and to his servants. {officers: Heb. eunuchs} 16 And he will take your menservants, and your maidservants, and your goodliest young men, and your asses, and put them to his work. 17 He will take the tenth of your sheep: and you will be his servants. 18 And you shall cry out in that day because of your king which you shall have chosen you; and Yahveh will not hear you in that day."

04 Ten Cents on Each Dollar

SAMUEL and the PROPHETESSES

VERSE 1
Ten cents on each dollar he'll take off the top.
From all of your hard work and from all of your crops.
And when you cry out and say that, "We have had enough!"
You may find out it's not a man but God you should trust.

VERSE 2
Your wives and your daughters he'll take to make perfume.
And bake all his bread and make him dinner at noon.
And when they cry and say that, "We have had enough!"
The hopes and dreams you had for them will all turn to dust.

CHORUS
He'll say he needs this and he'll say he needs that.
For this improvement, for this and for that.
And when your children cry out saying, "We have had enough!"
Your words will fly like embers than fall cold to the dust.

VERSE 3
Your sons he will take a great army he will make.
To fight all his battles, to fight all his wars.
And from the ground their blood will cry out, "We have had enough!"
The voices of your sons will rise like smoke through their dust.

CHORUS
He'll take your best land and he'll use it for his home.
He'll make you dependant on everything he owns.
And when you cry and say that, "We have had enough!"
Your words will fly like embers than fall cold to the dust.

VERSE 4
Ten cents on each dollar he'll take off the top.
From all of your hard work and from all of your crops.
And when you cry out and say that, "We have had enough!"
You may find out it's not a man but God you should trust.

TAG
The day will come when you'll cry out that, "We have had enough!
